This three-part training series is designed to equip nurses with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to effectively advocate for the profession and the patients they serve. Across three interactive two-hour sessions, participants will explore the legislative process, develop practical advocacy skills, and learn how to influence health policy at the state and federal levels.
Day 1 – Understanding the Legislative Process Gain a clear overview of how a bill becomes a law, where nurses can influence policy, and the key players who shape healthcare legislation.
Day 2 – Building Your Advocacy Skills Learn effective strategies for communicating with legislators, crafting impactful testimony, and mobilizing colleagues and communities around nursing issues.
Day 3 – Putting Advocacy into Action Apply your knowledge through case studies and role-playing, and leave with a personal advocacy action plan tailored to your practice and priorities.
