Position Description

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)
Regional Multicultural Magnet School
LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, invites candidates to
apply for a full-time, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) opening for the 2025-2026 school year at
our Regional Multicultural Magnet School in New London, Connecticut.
The licensed Registered Nurse (RN) will provide routine and emergency medical care, including
medication administration to students in grades 1-6. The nurse will promote and protect the
optimal physical, social, and emotional health of school-age children in order to support the
education process. Current license to practice nursing in the State of Connecticut required.

Current CPR Certification BSN preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Experience with school-
aged children and collaborating with teams of professionals preferred.

Registered Nurse (ADN or BSN)
LEARN Transition Academy
LEARN, Southeastern Connecticut's Regional Educational Service Center, invites candidates to
apply for a full-time Registered Nurse (ADN or BSN) opening for the 2025-2026 school year at our
Transition Academy in Niantic, Connecticut. The LEARN Transition Academy serves students ages
15 to 22, supporting the development of life, vocational, and academic skills in a community-based
setting.
The Registered Nurse will assess, monitor, and manage the health status of students with special
needs, develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans
(ECPs) in collaboration with parents, physicians, and the IEP/504 teams, administer medications
and medical treatments including but not limited to seizure management as prescribed, educate
school staff on the medical conditions and care requirements of students with special needs,
respond to emergencies and provide first aid and crisis management, and make a meaningful
impact in the lives of students with disabilities.
Current license to practice nursing in the State of Connecticut required. Current CPR Certification
BSN preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. Experience with school-aged children and
collaborating with teams of professionals preferred.
